Survey Deep Dive

You already have the data. We help you understand what it is really telling you.

Employee surveys can generate hundreds of charts and percentages without necessarily making the next decision any clearer. We go beyond topline scores to identify meaningful patterns, differences and relationships in your existing survey data.

Questions we can help answer

Are some employee groups experiencing the organisation differently?
Which aspects of work are most strongly associated with engagement, trust or intention to stay?
Have experiences changed since your previous survey?
Are particular teams or areas showing different patterns?
Where should leaders focus their attention first?

What we do

We work with your existing survey dataset and research questions, carrying out appropriate statistical analysis alongside careful interpretation of the organisational context.

Depending on the data, this can include subgroup analysis, significance testing, effect sizes, relationships between measures, driver analysis where justified, historical comparisons and focused analysis of free-text responses.

The objective is not to produce more charts. It is to work out what matters.

What you get

A clear analysis of the findings, explanation of the important patterns, practical recommendations and an executive-level report or presentation that can be used with decision-makers.

The cost of doing nothing

Organisations invest considerable time asking employees what they think. If the results stop at headline percentages or a slide deck, much of that investment is wasted.

The bigger cost may be acting on the wrong problem because the deeper pattern was never identified.

What might this look like?

A 1,200-person organisation has just completed its annual people survey. Overall engagement is 72%, which looks healthy, but voluntary turnover has risen in two business areas.

Humanly Probable receives the survey dataset, including team, grade, tenure and working pattern. We compare groups, test whether apparent differences are meaningful, examine relationships between survey measures and look at historical results.

The analysis shows that overall engagement is masking a much weaker experience among employees with one to three years' service. Trust in senior leadership and perceptions of progression are substantially lower in this group, particularly in two teams with the highest turnover.

Rather than recommending a generic engagement initiative, the organisation can focus further investigation on career development, leadership communication and the specific teams where the pattern is concentrated.

The value: the same survey moves from “72% engagement” to a much more useful question: “Why are we losing people at this point in their employment?”
